From this day on the BiH Historical Museum is enriched with one additional exhibit – the monumental art work by the world- acclaimed artist Michelangelo Pistoletto entitled “The Place of Multi-religious and World Meditation”.

Maestro Pistoletto, who attended the inauguration, stressed in his speech addressed before a numerous audience, that by giving this work to Sarajevo he wanted to send a message that differences can connect and not just divide because it is possible to have shared positive energy.

Mayor Abdulah Skaka thanked the artists saying that Mr. Pistoletto has been working with Sarajevo, its artists and citizens. He stressed that this city administration launched activities with the aim for the City of Sarajevo to be given a Museum of Contemporary Art, following the example of other European and world capitals. “Sarajevo did not neglect culture even in the hardest moments for the city” said Mayor Skaka.

The inauguration was followed by a documentary “Pistoletto in Sarajevo” by young director from Srebrenica Ado Hasanović, filmed during maestro Pistoletto’s last year visit to Bosnian and Herzegovinian capital.
